USB-C for the PCAN-USB FD family
A new member of the PCAN-USB FD series: the interface is now available with a USB-C connector.
PEAK is extending the PCAN-USB FD series, one of its highest-performing CAN interfaces, until now offered with a USB-A connector. The new USB-C variant simplifies connection to current computers and offers more flexibility in development, testing and service.
Specifications
The PCAN-USB FD with USB-C connects a computer to CAN CC and CAN FD networks via High-Speed USB 2.0. It supports the CAN 2.0 A/B specifications as well as CAN FD, with data field bit rates from 25 kbit/s to 12 Mbit/s and classic CAN bit rates from 25 kbit/s to 1 Mbit/s. The bus connection is made through a 9-pin D-Sub connector, and galvanic isolation up to 500 V decouples the PC from the CAN bus.
The compact plastic housing is suited to mobile use. Delivery includes the drivers for Windows and Linux, the PCAN-View CAN monitor, the PCAN-Basic API, the APIs for automotive protocols and the manual in PDF format.
