PCAN-USB XL: launched as a standalone product

The PCAN-USB XL is PEAK's first USB interface to support the CAN XL standard. It is now sold on its own.

The PCAN-USB XL supports the new CAN XL standard, which allows bit rates up to 20 Mbit/s and payloads up to 2,048 bytes per frame. The interface remains backward compatible and can be connected to CAN CC (Classic CAN) and CAN FD buses.

It offers galvanic isolation up to 500 V, switchable CAN termination and an extended operating temperature range. Engineers therefore have a simple, reliable solution for working with next-generation CAN networks, in the laboratory as well as in the field.

End of the PCAN-XL Starter Bundle

Until now, the PCAN-USB XL was only available in the PCAN-XL Starter Bundle. This starter pack for CAN XL included the Early Access version of PCAN-Explorer 7, the PCAN-Basic 5 API and the Windows drivers.

After nearly a year, CAN XL capable drivers and APIs have been officially released for Windows and Linux, and PCAN-Explorer 7 is now available as an independent software product. Everyone can therefore choose the combination best suited to their development and test environment. With the release of the PCAN-USB XL as a standalone product, the PCAN-XL Starter Bundle is discontinued.
