PCAN-Explorer 7.1: licence borrowing available
The CAN analysis software PCAN-Explorer 7.1 now allows floating licences to be borrowed for offline use. It also adds built-in trace format conversion and HTML5 documentation.
PCAN-Explorer 7 is PEAK's Windows software for monitoring, recording, transmitting, replaying and analysing CAN CC, CAN FD and CAN XL communication. With version 7.1, it offers floating licence borrowing.
Working outside the company network
An engineer can now borrow a floating licence from the licence server, then use it offline for a defined period. The feature is particularly useful during field trials, commissioning, maintenance work or road tests: floating licences already in place reveal their full potential and become usable in every situation.
The borrowed licence is stored locally, on the computer or on a connected licence dongle. During the borrowing period, PCAN-Explorer 7 runs without a connection to the licence server. The maximum borrowing period is 30 days, according to the settings defined by the administrator.
Built-in trace conversion
Version 7.1 also includes a free add-in, Trace Converter, which integrates trace file conversion directly into PCAN-Explorer and supports common formats such as ASC and MF4. Trace data can be imported and exported without going through a separate conversion tool.
The built-in online help has also been reworked: it is now delivered as an HTML5 help system that opens in the browser, which makes the technical documentation more accessible. Version 7.1 is available now as an update for PCAN-Explorer 7 users.
