PCAN-Symbol Editor 6

Software for generating and processing symbol files

The symbol format developed by PEAK-System converts the hexadecimal display of CAN data traffic into a user-comprehensible format. To generate a symbol, a name is first assigned to each individual CAN ID. The interpretation and display of CAN data is defined using variables with various parameters, such as the name and output format.

The resulting symbol makes it easy to assign incoming and outgoing CAN messages and ensures the readability of CAN data. Free of charge, PCAN-Symbol Editor uses clear menus and a graphical symbol representation to make generating and processing symbol files user-friendly.

Features
  • Symbolic representation of CAN messages via alphanumeric naming
  • Bit-precise marking of data into variables for assigning names, data types, and value lists
  • Compliant with CAN 2.0 A/B and FD specifications
