The PCAN-GPS FD is a programmable sensor module designed for determining position and orientation, featuring CAN FD connectivity. It incorporates a satellite receiver, a magnetic sensor, an accelerometer, and a gyroscope. Sensor data is processed by the NXP LPC54618 microcontroller, then transmitted via CAN or CAN FD.

The behavior of the PCAN-GPS FD can be freely adapted to specific applications. The firmware is developed using the development kit integrating the GNU compiler for C and C++, then transferred to the module via CAN. Several programming examples are provided to facilitate the implementation of custom solutions.

The PCAN-GPS FD is delivered with standard firmware that periodically broadcasts sensor data on the CAN bus.
