PCAN-Explorer 6 is a comprehensive professional tool dedicated to operating CAN and CAN FD networks. Beyond simply monitoring traffic, it allows manual and periodic messages or complete transmission sequences to be sent, providing direct control during test and simulation phases.
The software manages simultaneous connection to multiple CAN and CAN FD buses. Unlike previous versions, the hardware type of the PEAK-CAN interfaces used is no longer a restriction.
The symbolic representation of CAN messages and their payload data is a key aspect of the software. Symbol files convert hexadecimal information into a clear, understandable format.
Since version 6, the trace function not only records data traffic but can also replay previously saved traces. Recording and reception of CAN messages can be filtered according to various criteria.
Specific requirements and automation of advanced sequences can be achieved via macros, VBScript and callback functions. The VBScript implementation provides full access to the PCAN-Explorer 6 object model.
The software's capabilities can be extended with add-in modules. PEAK-System offers, among others, Plotter, which generates real-time signal curves or curves from trace files, and Instruments Panel, which provides virtual displays, controllers and switches. Other add-ins enable the import of CANdb configurations and add compatibility with the J1939 protocol.
Licenses
Single-Computer License: This license includes the installation files and a license file. It authorizes installation, activation and use of the software on a single computer. Activation is done online, by phone or by e-mail.
Portable License + Electronic Protection Key: This option provides an electronic protection key (dongle) per license purchased, in addition to the installation files. PCAN-Explorer 6 can then be installed on multiple machines. To unlock the software, simply plug the key into an available USB port.
Note: To extend an existing portable license with additional licenses, please state your license number in the comment field when ordering. This will allow the old and new protection keys to be used interchangeably on the same PCAN-Explorer installations.
