PCAN-Explorer 6 is a comprehensive professional tool dedicated to operating CAN and CAN FD networks. Beyond simply observing traffic, it allows sending manual or periodic messages, or complete transmission sequences, providing direct control during test and simulation phases.
The software manages simultaneous connection to multiple CAN and CAN FD buses. Unlike earlier versions, the hardware type of the PEAK-CAN interfaces used is no longer a restriction.
The symbolic representation of CAN messages and their payload data is an essential aspect of the software. Symbol files convert hexadecimal information into a clear, understandable format.
Since version 6, the trace function not only records data traffic but also replays previously saved traces. Recording and receiving CAN messages can be filtered according to various criteria.
Specific requirements and the automation of advanced sequences can be implemented via macros, VBScript and callback functions. The VBScript implementation gives full access to the PCAN-Explorer 6 object model.
The software's capabilities can be expanded through add-ins. PEAK-System offers, in particular, Plotter, which generates signal curves in real time or from trace files, and Instruments Panel, which provides virtual displays, controllers and switches. Other add-ins enable importing CANdb configurations and add compatibility with the J1939 protocol.
Licenses
Single-Computer License: This license includes the installation files and a license file. It authorizes the installation, activation and use of the software on a single workstation. Activation is performed online, by phone or by e-mail.
Portable License + Electronic Protection Key: In addition to the installation files, this option provides an electronic key (dongle) protecting the purchased license. PCAN-Explorer 6 can then be installed on several machines. To unlock the software, simply plug the key into an available USB port.
Note: To extend an existing portable license with additional licenses, please mention your license number as a comment when ordering. This allows both the old and the new protection key to be used interchangeably on the same PCAN-Explorer installations.
