Portable device dedicated to CAN bus diagnostics
The PCAN-Diag 2 is a portable diagnostic tool with numerous specialized functions for analyzing a CAN bus: automatic bit rate detection, bus load measurement, and termination check. In addition to receiving CAN messages, the device can send individual messages or complete sequences. An on-board memory card also makes it possible to record CAN traffic for later playback.
The built-in dual-channel oscilloscope displays CAN signals. Specific CAN IDs as well as various events can be used as triggers. The analog nature of the acquisition allows CAN frames to be decoded, making it easier, for example, to detect frame-level errors.
Received CAN messages can be interpreted symbolically for immediate, unambiguous reading. The PCAN-Symbol Editor software, included in the delivery, makes it easy to create the required symbol files. All diagnostic functions are accessible via a navigation dial.
