Versatile plug-in board with I/O and CAN FD connectivity
The PCAN-MicroMod FD is a compact plug-in board featuring a CAN and CAN FD connection on one side, and various physical inputs and outputs on the other. The logical link between the two interfaces is handled by the NXP LPC54618 microcontroller. The PCAN-MicroMod FD gives electronics developers a simple way to integrate I/O functionality with CAN connectivity into their projects.
The PCAN-MicroMod FD is configured via the supplied Windows® software. In addition to direct mapping of I/O to CAN IDs, function blocks are available for data processing. The configuration built on the computer is transmitted over the CAN bus to the PCAN-MicroMod FD, which then operates as a standalone CAN node. Several modules can be configured independently on the same CAN bus.
Ready-to-use base boards in aluminum housings, as well as an evaluation board for developing custom applications, are available for the PCAN-MicroMod FD. All PCAN-MicroMod FD products can also run with CANopen firmware. Corresponding licenses are available from our partner Embedded Systems Academy.
Requirements
A PEAK-CAN interface is required for configuration.
Pin adapter
The pin headers of the PCAN-MicroMod FD use a 50 mil/1.27 mm pitch. To use the PCAN-MicroMod FD on boards with a 100 mil/2.54 mm pitch, an adapter board is available. Further information can be found in the PCAN-MicroMod FD documentation.
