Programmable positioning module with CAN interface

The PCAN-GPS is a housing equipped with programmable sensors dedicated to positioning and orientation: satellite receiver, magnetic sensor, accelerometer, and gyroscope. The acquired data can be transmitted on the CAN bus or stored in internal memory. Processing is handled by a microcontroller from the NXP LPC4000 range.

The behavior of the PCAN-GPS can be freely adapted to specific applications. The firmware is developed using the development kit integrating the GNU compiler for C and C++, then transferred to the module via CAN. Several programming examples are provided to facilitate the implementation of custom solutions.

The PCAN-GPS is delivered with standard firmware that periodically broadcasts sensor data on the CAN bus. The source code of this program is included as an example in the delivery package.

Requirements

A PEAK-CAN interface is required to load the firmware via CAN.

  • NXP LPC4000 series microcontroller (ARM Cortex-M4)
