Plug-in adapter for galvanic isolation of CAN and CAN FD networks
The PCAN-Optoadapter is a universal plug-in adapter providing galvanic isolation of high-speed CAN buses. Its built-in logic allows decoupling at any point of the CAN network.
The PCAN-Optoadapter supports CAN FD buses with a maximum data bit rate of 2 Mbit/s and a maximum nominal bit rate of 1 Mbit/s.

- Galvanic isolation via DC/DC converter up to 500 V
- Transfer rate from 5 kbit/s up to 1 Mbit/s
- NXP PCA82C251 High Speed CAN transceiver
- Operational on CAN FD buses with a maximum data transfer rate of 2 Mbit/s and a maximum nominal rate of 1 Mbit/s
- Connection to the CAN bus via 9-pin D-Sub connector (according to CiA® 106)
- LED indicating power supply voltage status
- 120-ohm bus termination on the female D-Sub connector
- Power supply (5 V) via pin 1 of the High Speed CAN connector. Almost all PEAK CAN interfaces can provide the required power
- Extended operating temperature range, from -40 to +85 °C
