Complete starter pack for the CAN XL standard
Combining a USB-to-CAN interface, professional CAN analysis software and a programming interface, the PCAN-XL Starter Bundle provides all the essential elements to get started with the CAN XL standard.
Since any functional CAN XL communication requires at least two participants, as with classic CAN, PEAK-System offers this bundle with one or two PCAN-USB XL interfaces. Users who do not yet have matching CAN XL equipment can thus discover and experiment with this new standard.
The PCAN-USB XL interface makes it easy to connect to CAN XL, CAN FD, and CAN CC buses via a computer's USB port. Galvanic isolation of up to 500 volts decouples the PC from the CAN bus. Its compact plastic housing makes it particularly well suited to mobile applications.
The Starter Bundle also includes the Early Access edition of the PCAN-Explorer 7 professional CAN analysis software and the PCAN-Basic programming interface for developing CAN-connected applications. Both components have been enhanced to support CAN XL.
CAN XL
CAN XL (Extended Data-Field Length) was designed to facilitate interoperability with automotive Ethernet and to enable the transfer of larger volumes of data, notably for ECU flashing. This new standard allows the transmission of up to 2048 bytes of payload data per message at speeds of up to 20 Mbit/s.
