4-channel CAN router with logging function

The PCAN-Router Pro interconnects the data streams of four high-speed CAN buses. The router's behavior is configured via the CAN bus using the PPCAN-Editor Windows software. Beyond simple forwarding, CAN data can be processed, modified, and filtered in numerous ways. Users have a wide range of function blocks and parameters available to build their configuration. A fifth, virtual CAN channel is additionally dedicated to logging the entire traffic onto a CompactFlash card.

As an alternative to the standard firmware supplied with the PCAN-Router Pro, custom firmware can be developed using the ARM NXP LPC2294 microcontroller. This firmware is developed with the development kit that includes the GNU compiler for C and C++, then loaded into the module via the CAN bus. Several code examples make it easier to implement custom solutions.

The modular bus design also allows flexible adaptation of the CAN channels to different needs. Low-speed and single-wire CAN transceivers are also available on request.

Requirements

A PEAK-CAN interface is required for configuration or for loading the firmware via the CAN bus.

Note on programming

Since March 2013, a toolset and a library have been made available for developing custom firmware on the PCAN-Router Pro. Note: due to various hardware revisions, only devices with a serial number above 100 can receive custom firmware.
